2021

 MODERNITY by KDT™ was born from a desire to have a completed pack that didn't impact performance, and offered beautiful aesthetics with functional custom assets.

​

By deconstructing the work of others, we were able to understand the inner workings of the artistry, laying the groundwork for our understanding.

2022

Building textures from scratch helped acquire proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator over time. Once we had a solid grasp on raster asset creation, we began to familiarize ourselves with the concept of physically-based rendering [legacy PBR].

Shared development images gained positive feedback and our project shifted from a personal vision to a community cry for uncompromised gameplay.

2023

This year saw the introduction of custom 3D assets. When examining our inspirations closer, we realized we were retexturing in areas where our focus should have been remodeling. This lead to the amassing of new skills and programs like Autodesk Maya, Blockbench, and eventually Blender 3D.

With this shift to 3D modeling, we began to see performance drags on a level we hadn't encountered before—serving as our first encounter with the concept of optimization.

2024

2024 was significant as the pack made a massive leap in quality. Much time was spent refining workflows by implementing clever modeling and texturing techniques to get the most performance balance with visual fidelity and aesthetics.

Blockstates became the next new area of focus as it would allow us to manipulate game code to create a more realistic player experience.

2025

This year marked a profound upgrade in the project again in the artistry and as a brand. The project formerly known as Mistress's Modern—based on the creator's gaming channel—was changed to MODERNITY by KDT and we began to build the pack from the ground up with all the information amassed over the years.

​

MODERNITY as a brand would not only assert that players don't have to sacrifice playability or asset functionality for aesthetics—but that the player is one with their creations—offering a more creatively driven brand mission using cinematography, engaging narratives, and modern design principles to craft player content.  

2026 & BEYOND

The next step for the MODERNITY brand is alpha-release. We will usher in a new age of Minecraft content by prioritizing user-experience, sophisticated narratives, unparalleled documentation and educational material for the next generation of Minecraft players and content creators.
