MODERN UPDATES [Jan. 6]: Setting The Stage

A new year brings new beginnings, and with our first formal introduction out of the way, we can now pave the road for the long—but fulfilling—journey ahead.


The shares, comments, and downloads we have received since alpha launch have given the MODERNITY team a renewed sense of purpose for this project, and we hope that you all will enjoy what we have in store over the coming weeks.



SYSTEMS ONLINE...


To kick things off, we are introducing MODERN UPDATES: a regular briefing on resource pack changes, brand evolution, and technical milestones. For ease of access, these posts will be synced across our newly created X account, the Content-Inspiration-and-Updates channel in our Discord, and right here on the official MODERNITY site.


Now, with that out of the way, here are some updates and changes you can expect in the coming weeks:


BRAND INFRASTRUCTURE

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • New social media platform added [X, formerly Twitter], for user error reporting, live support updates, and relevant related news.

  • Automation is being worked on for cross-platform [e.g. Discord] updates.


KAIH.DOESTHINGS

  • Brand name has been globally updated [KAIH.DOESTHINGS Studios™, formerly KAIH.DOESTHINGS™], to accurately convey multi-disciplinary content.


PROJECT WORKFLOWS

  • Reorganization, restructuring, and consolidation of MODERNITY documents, promotional material, and development schedules.

  • Platform templates being created.


WEBSITE

  • Cinematics tab updated.

  • Maps tab under development.

  • The final two steps of the Magma tutorial are under review for accuracy.

  • “The Archives” lore tab User Interface is now in-development.


YOUTUBE

  • Gameplay video in the editing stage.

  • Interface for Tutorial videos has been completed, and the video is awaiting production. 

MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT

SOFTWARE INTEGRATION

  • Gradual shift of texture creation from Photoshop to Substance [ Designer ] has begun.


"GROUND" TEXTURES

  • Completion of development for MODERNITY-categorized “Ground” textures on-hold during project workflow consolidation and organization. Will be continued with Adobe Substance.


3D MODELS

  • Updated 3D models will be added to the pack during this period. This will be part of the “Comforts and Commute” Update


BENCHMARKS

  • Benchmarking has begun in earnest. Values will begin to gradually reflect on our website's Benchmarks Page .


GAME SYSTEMS ENGINEERING

TEMPLATES

  • No notes for current development. Mod template to be created for efficiency going forward.

WORLD-BUILDING & SHOWCASES

LORE-GENERAL

  • Storyline in development phase.


SANCTUM OF THE CRIMSON SUN

  • Promotional page is being created on our website.

  • Narrative bridge is being developed.

  • Structural design blueprint pending.


THE MODERNITY COLLECTIVE

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • No contest announcements or winners at this time. Please stay tuned in the  Discord.


PACK RELEASED

  • MODERNITY by KDT™ has been officially released on Curseforge, Planet Minecraft, and Modrinth.

  • Direct downloads and links to downloads on each platform can be found on the Resource Packs page on our website.


DISCORD

  • New channel for patch notes has been added to the MODERNITY community Hub category.



REACHING OUT


As we prepare to take Minecraft to greater heights, the MODERNITY team has officially reached out to local academic programs for collaboration with our Content Architects & Structural Design team [C.A.S.D.] and business-side development.


We aim to provide a space for creative and technically-inclined talent to hone their craft and build professional portfolios, while simultaneously redefining the standard for content creation within the broader Minecraft community.
